Bill Crowell was promoted to senior vice president and group financial officer for Avnet Electronics Marketing in March 2008, reporting to Harley Feldberg, global president, Avnet Electronics Marketing. He is responsible for leading a team of finance professionals representing businesses in North America, Europe, Asia, and Japan. He previously served as vice president and group financial officer for both Avnet Technology Solutions and one if its predecessor groups, Avnet Applied Computing.

From February 2000 to September 2001, Mr. Crowell served as chief financial officer, treasurer and secretary of global technology company Microtest, Inc. (NASDAQ: MTST), where he successfully positioned and sold the company. Prior to that he was with Rural/Metro Corporation (NASDAQ:RURL) from 1992 to 2000, where he was senior vice president, finance and acquisitions and vice president of financial services.

With nearly 30 years of experience in finance, Mr. Crowell's background includes mergers and acquisitions, equity and debt offerings, tax planning and structure, risk management, insurance, strategic planning, treasury management and investor relations.

During his tenure at Avnet, which began in 2002, Mr. Crowell and his team at Avnet Technology Solutions reorganized and integrated accounting groups in North America and Europe that joined Avnet through various acquisitions, thereby creating an efficient and focused organization. He has also directed teams dedicated to improvement of return on capital employed through the reduction of inventory and working capital. The Avnet Executive Board and Board of Directors recognized Mr. Crowell's accomplishments by electing him a corporate officer in January 2006.

A Certified Public Accountant, Mr. Crowell earned his bachelor of science degree in finance and accounting from the University of Arizona and attended the Wharton School of Business, University of Pennsylvania, Graduate Division.
