October 15, 2010 - Vanda Receives a Heart to Heart for Volunteerism

Hong Kong -- Although many Avnet employees know Vanda Group has a lot of heart, the Hong Kong community recognizes it as well.

Most recently, the Hong Kong Federation of Youth Groups designated Vanda as one of its Heart to Heart companies. Established in 2005, the Heart to Heart Project encourages volunteerism among Hong Kong schools by helping students organize and participate in volunteer service activities. Companies not only provide sponsorship, but also join students in volunteering.

"This is the first year for Vanda to join this meaningful project, and we are all excited about it," says Andrew So, Vanda's managing director. "Through serving other parties, we are indeed setting a good example for students to care and serve each other in the community."

The Heart to Heart company award isn't the first Vanda has received this year; it comes on the heels of the Hong Kong Council of Social Service's naming Vanda a Caring Company for the second year in a row.
