The extensive and effective projects, which run through the entire company, have been combined by EBV under the brand 'ECOmise it™'.
EBV, Europe's leading specialist in semiconductor distribution publishes its first 'ECOmise it' Report for fiscal year 2009, which documents the implemented actions and specifies the company's future environmental goals.
"Right from the start of the 'ECOmise it' campaign, it was clear to EBV that we want always to clearly define and evaluate our actions and goals in the area of climate protection in order to make us measurable. For many companies, the involvement in the environment has turned into a hot topic, which makes it that much more important for EBV to distinguish it from other companies by providing detailed information about our activities and results," clarifies Christian Meier COO at EBV Elektronik. For him, climate protection is top priority: "We already clearly outlined our position over a year ago in our 'ECOmise it' White Paper when we committed to, at the end of every fiscal year, certifying and releasing the implementation of our targeted environmental goals. The report shows that we actually achieved a considerable amount. There is no reason for us to sit back - 'ECOmise it' will remain at the top of our agenda. The challenging goals set for the coming year prove it."
The current 'ECOmise it' Report FY 2009 takes a detailed look back at the activities of the last 12 months: the commitment to equalize CO2 emissions is documented, the actions to saving resources is described and internal initiatives such as 'By Bike to EBV' or the idea competition 'ECOmise it Ideas' are presented. A good example of our success is the total energy saved in the area of 'Green IT' alone in fiscal year 2009 equates to the average consumption of 55 two-person households. Also in the area of Car Policy or through the implementation of climate-friendly printed documents, important steps could be taken for sustainable environmental protection.
