Reigate, UK and Munich -- Avnet Embedded, an Avnet, Inc. (NYSE:AVT) company, announced today that it has expanded its distribution agreement with Cinterion Wireless Modules, the leading global supplier of wireless machine-to-machine (M2M) communication modules. Building upon a successful twelve year partnership with UK-based TDC, now a part of Avnet Embedded, the companies have agreed to distribute the full range of Cinterion modules in France via Axess Technology, now also a part of Avnet Embedded.
M2M technology is used to enable devices and systems to communicate wirelessly and without human intervention. Defying the economic downturn, the M2M market is continuing to grow due to increased interest in transportation, automotive and remote energy metering applications, among others.
From its inception to the present, Cinterion has been driving M2M innovation and evolution and leading the industry with a wide range of products for both enterprise and, increasingly, consumer applications.
