Avnet's Dedicated Sales and Marketing Focus on AMD Products Delivers No. 1 Global Distribution Position for Fourth Year in a Row

(NYSE: AVT), announced today that its Computing Components business unit was recently recognized as AMD's (NYSE:AMD) top-performing global distributor for 2006. Avnet Computing Components is the channel's leading source globally for AMD technology, and was also honored as Distributor of the Year for the Asia Pacific, Europe and North America regions. This marks the fourth consecutive year that Avnet achieved the No. 1 global distribution position for AMD products.
