PHOENIX -- Avnet Electronics Marketing Americas, the largest operating group of Avnet Inc. (NYSE:AVT), recently announced that it has been named Distributor of the Year by Schurter, a manufacturer of passive electronic components. This award recognizes Avnet's IP&E (Interconnect, Passive & Electromechanical) business as one of Schurter's key distribution partners for 2005.
